Why Do I Feel So Guilty for Saying No? (And What It Really Means) | Ep 50
Manage episode 509238736 series 3600067
If you’re a people-pleaser then chances are that on the rare occasion you do say “no” to someone, cancel plans, or set a boundary — you find yourself feeling guilty.
In this episode I talk about how guilt doesn’t always mean you’ve done something wrong. Often, it shows up because you’ve broken an internalised rule you’ve been carrying for years — like “I must keep everyone happy” or “Putting myself first is selfish.”
This episode includes:
Why guilt feels so intense when you say no or prioritise yourself
How to reframe guilt so you can see it as a sign of growth, not wrongdoing
A guided reflection exercise to help you uncover the root of your guilt and begin reframing it
If this episode helps you, please share it with someone who needs to hear it - and stay tuned for the next episode, where we’ll explore practical strategies to rewrite those old rules for good.
Take the quiz! What's Your People-Pleaser Personality? and discover my 6 step method to unlocking Clarity, Change and Freedom so you can say yes to the real you - without anxiety and guilt.
