According to Wikipedia, “Mental toughness is a measure of individual resilience and confidence that may predict success in sport, education and the workplace.“
Oxford reference says that mental toughness is, “A quality of mind or intellect characterized by, among other things, a refusal to be intimidated, a determination to finish a contest even when things are going badly, and an ability to control emotions and remain highly focused when under the pressure of intense competition.”
The Urban Dictionary says, "mental toughness is getting denied by 15 girls you try your hardest to hang out with and having what it takes to consider what went wrong, make the necessary adjustments, and treat number 16 like she's a princess."
Mental toughness is a core concept in sports psychology that deals with the inner strength and resilience of athletes. It refers to an athlete's capacity to bounce back from setbacks, stay focused on their goals, and power through tough times.
Mental toughness involves managing and controlling emotions like fear or doubt, staying positive even during failure, pushing forward despite fatigue, and utilizing techniques like visualization or self-talk to motivate yourself to go that extra mile.
