Let us know what you thought about the show!
I met Aleeza around 2002 when we both attended retreats for a Jewish spirituality organization called Isralight. I am so proud of her amazing success as a Matchmaker and her show Jewish Matchmaking on Netflix.
- Matchmaking Origins: Aleeza's journey as a matchmaker started organically by setting up friends and recognizing matchmaking as her calling.
- Vision and Goals: The importance of dreaming big and revising goals to align with personal and professional growth.
- Counterintuitive Dating Advice: Aleeza advocates for seeing potential in every date, going with a mindset of "soulmate until proven not," and normalizing the effort to set up others monthly.
- Overcoming Challenges: Jason and Aleeza highlight the value of reframing negative beliefs, whether in dating or professional growth, using tools like mindset shifts and persistence.
- Collaboration and Impact: Both stress the significance of partnerships, mentorships, and creating community support systems in business and personal life.
Topics Covered:
- The journey from informal matchmaking to becoming "The Jewish Matchmaker."
- Counterintuitive advice, including "Date them till you hate them" and fostering patience in relationships.
- How belief systems and reframing language impact dating, relationships, and professional growth.
- The intersection of personal branding, niching down, and entrepreneurial challenges.
- The role of collaboration, epigenetics, and community support in achieving long-term success.
From Aleeza Ben Shalom:
- âWhen you build couples, it builds a community, and you build the world.â
- âAssume that the person youâre dating is your soulmate until proven not.â
- âEveryone can make a match suggestionâone a monthâwhether itâs for friends, family, or anyone.â
- âSlow down to move fast. Break before the curve so you can gas into it.â
- âCollaboration is your ticket to success; itâs not about competition but about building together.â
- âHow we talk about and describe problems often holds the key to unlocking them.â
- âI believe we often set goals too small; what we call a goal is really just an action step.â
- âThe worst thing someone can say is yesâbecause that means you have to rise to the challenge.â
- âOur belief systems are the biggest hurdles in personal and professional growth.â
Recommended Action Items:
- For Individuals:
- Adopt Aleezaâs advice: âDate them till you hate them.â Assume potential until proven otherwise.
- Make one match suggestion a month to connect others, contributing to community well-being.
- For Entrepreneurs:
- Reflect on whether your goals are action steps or true milestones. Adjust accordingly.
- Embrace collaboration and seek out mentors or partnerships to scale your vision.
- For Personal Growth:
