Life comes at us in seasons - sometimes expected, sometimes catching us completely off guard. When my laptop died recently (amid other life changes), it got me thinking about how we constantly adapt to shifting circumstances, whether by choice or necessity.
Have you noticed how your preferences naturally evolve over time? My husband Dave started his wine journey with super-sweet apple wine and refused anything that wasn't ice-cold. Fast forward to today, and he exclusively enjoys dry reds with high tannins that create that distinctive pucker sensation! This transformation happened organically as he experienced more options and developed his palate. The same pattern appears in our fitness journeys - moving from circuit training to HIIT to strength training as we discover what truly resonates in each phase of life.
As a personal trainer for over two decades, I've been blessed with incredible long-term client relationships. But the ultimate goal isn't keeping people dependent on instructors forever. We want to equip you with knowledge and skills to customize your fitness journey independently. Each instructor offers unique verbal cues and teaching approaches that might click differently for different people. I can't count how many times clients have excitedly shared "new" insights from another instructor that I've actually been telling them for years! It finally resonated when delivered through a fresh perspective.
Our bodies also respond differently to training throughout the year. Understanding your Ayurvedic dosha constitution (vata, pitta, or kapha) can provide valuable insights into optimizing your routines based on seasonal changes. Whatever season you're in - whether taking a break or ramping up your efforts - embrace it fully and trust that each phase serves its purpose in your ongoing evolution. What season are you experiencing right now, and how are you adapting to it? Share your thoughts or join the conversation!
