Today, I sit down with Dan Parr, a voiceover talent who never planned on becoming a Bible translator or narrator—yet found himself called to do exactly that. Known as a “reluctant Bible publisher,” Mr. Parr shares how a simple reading during a life group turned into a four-year journey of creating a new translation and narration of the Bible designed for clarity and accessibility.

In this episode, Mr. Parr explains how he moved from posting a short resurrection story on Facebook to translating the entire Bible, Psalms, and Proverbs. He emphasizes that his goal was never to replace Scripture, but to lower barriers for people unfamiliar with biblical language and to point them toward God’s Word in a way they could easily understand. Along the way, he describes wrestling with doubts, hearing God’s persistence, and learning that when God calls, He also equips.

We also dive into how believers can discern God’s voice, the importance of prayer, Scripture, and fellowship, and how to recognize when advice aligns—or doesn’t—with God’s will. Mr. Parr shares practical encouragement for anyone struggling to hear from God, reminding us that He often speaks through His Word and confirmation from others, but always requires discernment.

Beyond translation, we talk about Mr. Parr’s career in voiceover, the impact of AI on creative industries, and how he sees God using every circumstance—even setbacks—to align believers with His timing and purpose. He closes with one of his life verses, Proverbs 16:3, reminding listeners to commit everything to the Lord and trust His plan.
