As a strong advocate for cycling, I discuss how to integrate cycling, rowing, and cross-country skiing into your training schedule effectively. I’ll guide you on where to place these sessions within your weekly plan and at what intensity to perform them.
Over the years, I've experimented with various cross-training techniques at different intensities, even incorporating cycling and rowing as hard sessions on interval days to simulate double-threshold workouts, similar to the methods used by Jakob Ingebrigtsen. I share my insights and experiences, as well as those of top athletes who have successfully used cross-training to boost their running performance.
When discussing cross-training, it’s essential to keep your primary goal in mind: becoming the best runner you can be. This means using cross-training to support and enhance your running, rather than just adding extra volume or engaging in another sport.
