Hop into the Time Machine with us as we head way back to elementary school. We're discussing books we discovered and fell in love with because our teachers read them to us first. We cover beloved children's classics as well as unknown gems published from the 1950s to the 1990s. Nostalgia reigns supreme in this chapter.
Julia’s Books:

  • Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr
  • The Year of the Dog by Grace Lin
  • Treasure in an Oatmeal Box by Ken Gire
  • Sammy Keyes and the Skeleton Man by Wendelin Van Draanen

Stephany’s Books:

  • James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
  • The Enormous Egg by Oliver Butterworth
  • The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet by Eleanor Cameron
  • Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien
  • Charlotte's Web by E. B. White
  • The Borrowers by Mary Norton
  • Dorp Dead by Julia Cunningham
  • We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
