Trigger warning: Our story today is unlike our typical content, but it's an extraordinary journey from darkness to light, from harrowing experiences to becoming a beacon of hope. On today's episode, I have the privilege of chatting with Lurata Lyon. She's not just a survivor; she's a thriver. Lurata was a victim of human trafficking and organ harvesting in Yugoslavia, and today she's a presentation skills coach and a motivational speaker. Lurata's life took a devastating turn in the late '90s during the turmoil in Kosovo. She was caught up in the brutal conflict, and not just once but twice, she found herself held as a captive. In those darkest moments, she found the inner strength to endure and resist. Miraculously, her chance for freedom came when she was eventually rescued. In her journey, Lurata learned to forgive herself for circumstances beyond her control and let go of the guilt that had weighed her down for so long. She built a loving family and is now a mother to two boys. Today, Lurata is unwavering in her mission, committed to bringing about the positive change in the world. She aims to inspire others through motivational talks and engage in charitable efforts, with a particular focus on combating human trafficking.
