57. The Empty Nest – Grieving, Growing, and Embracing a New Season
Manage episode 482652383 series 3569681
I recorded this episode with tears in my eyes — because it’s not just something I’m teaching, it’s something I’m living.
Our youngest daughter just graduated from high school, and come August… I’ll officially be an empty nester.
If you’re in this season too — or you see it coming — I want you to know: you are not alone.
In this episode, I’m sharing my own raw, real journey of what it looks like to:
Grieve this transition without guilt
Let go with grace (not control)
Reclaim your identity in Christ — beyond the role of “mom” or “dad”
And embrace the new dreams, callings, and healing God has for you in this next chapter
We’ll also talk about how to stay emotionally grounded using the Happy Kid Toolkit and how to recognize when you’re slipping into unhealthy emotional patterns like helplessness, control, or resentment — and how to come back to truth, peace, and purpose.
This episode is for every parent who’s released a child into adulthood and felt the ache, the beauty, and the holy weight of it all.
Grab a tissue. Take a deep breath.
Let’s walk this new season together — with hope.
xoxo,
Danielle
