Welcome back to the Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible, where I gently read the King James Version of Scripture with peaceful background music to help you rest, reflect, and draw near to God.
In this calming episode, we continue through the Book of Genesis, reading chapters 41 through 48. These beloved passages tell the remarkable story of Joseph’s rise from the dungeon to the throne, his wisdom in interpreting Pharaoh’s dreams, and his stewardship through years of plenty and famine.
As Joseph’s brothers come to Egypt seeking food, the story of reconciliation unfolds — a powerful reminder of God’s providence and mercy. Though betrayed and forgotten, Joseph never lost faith, and in God’s perfect timing, he became the instrument of salvation for his family and the entire nation.
As you listen tonight, rest in the truth that God is working all things for good, even in seasons of waiting, loss, or uncertainty. His plans are always unfolding — perfectly and lovingly — for those who trust Him.
Highlighted Verses:

  • Genesis 41:38 — “Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?”
  • Genesis 41:52 — “For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.”
  • Genesis 45:5 — “Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves… for God did send me before you to preserve life.”
  • Genesis 45:8 — “So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God.”
  • Genesis 48:15–16 — “God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk… bless the lads.”

Let these timeless words remind you of God’s faithful hand guiding your story, even through the unknown.
