In this episode I speak openly about suicide and suicide prevention. Please listen with care and only if you feel in the right headspace. If you are struggling right now, you are not alone. You can call or text 988 in the US for immediate support, or reach out to local crisis services where you are.

This week I’m talking about something that is heavy, personal, and deeply important. September is Suicide Prevention Month and in the past week alone, I’ve lost two people I know and I am very shaken and still processing. But I cannot be quiet about this epidemic in our world that so many are suffering from.

I share my own brushes with depression and hopelessness, what I’ve learned about the warning signs, and how we can all play a role in supporting one another through dark times. This isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about raising awareness, removing stigma, and remembering that even the smallest actions can make a difference.

My hope is that you leave this episode feeling more equipped to support your loved ones, more compassionate, and personally feeling less alone in the world.

Here are the Highlights:

02:30 My own experiences with depression and hopelessness.

09:10 The warning signs I’ve learned to look out for.

13:45 How stigma keeps people silent and why we need to talk more.

20:00 The creative and productive ways I now check in on people I care about.

23:23 John Gottman and sliding doors moments: trust vs betrayal

27:20 Why small, compassionate conversations can truly save lives.
