Manage episode 502562380 series 3621366
[Runtime 4min/49sec.] Light-hearted Observations from a Canadian Boomer:
'In the United States Postal system, "de minimis" aka "too busy to fuss over" is a rule that lets imported goods under a certain threshold (US$800) sail thru customs without extra duties or taxes owed. For a lot of Canadian businesss selling into the US, that's been quite a blessing.'

My ADD Curious brain is always on, coming up with an endless supply of queries which I input into the AI program Perplexity. The perameters I've set for these reports include direction to write at an 8th grade reading level, but still in the style of a progressive Canadian West Coast Boomer (of which I am one). I also usually ask for 'best case' and 'worst cases' scenarios. I then edit and sometimes rewrite parts for clarity. Going back to my commerical production days in radio, I then voice track the script in my home studio with my trusty Shure SM7b using Audacity and their 'Punch & Roll' recording technique. Once recorded, I then edit it, removing any background noise, breathing sounds, mic pops, and lip clicks. Then it's time to add EQ effects, as well as amplify, compress, limit and normalize. After listening to the finished product two to three times to check for and correct any remaining issues; I then upload a final MP3 file.
