This week we have the pleasure of releasing to you our interview with founder and owner of Fireside Sound Studio in Joshua Tree, CA (and founding member of Blind Melon!) - the one and only, Christopher Thorn!!!
In this episode of Secondhand Talent, Steiner interviews Christopher Thorn, the founder of Fireside Sound Studios in Joshua Tree, CA - oh yeah, and a founding member of the iconic band Blind Melon, as well as a playing, founding and/or touring member of Afghan Whigs, AWOLNATION, and so many more.
They discuss Christopher's journey from musician to producer, the importance of community in music, and the unique studio experience he has created at Fireside Sound. The conversation touches on the significance of communication in music production, the legacy of Blind Melon, and the influence of a mandolin given to him by the legendary Robert Hunter.
Christopher shares insights on building a creative environment for artists and the philosophy behind his studio, emphasizing the personal touch in making records.
