Like many people, I’ve added sea salt to my food for years. Although sea salt is often praised for its trace minerals, there are a number of concerns to think about when considering whether using sea salt would contribute positively to overall health.
Today I’m exploring the three main concerns about sea salt and thyroid health and why I recommend it to most of my patients.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- The trace minerals found in sea salt and their benefits.
- Iodine's role and effects on thyroid health
- The necessity of minerals from sea salt
- The link between excess salt and autoimmune diseases
- Implications of microplastics in sea salt
- What research shows about microplastic contamination in sea salt
- Weighing risks vs. benefits of consuming sea salt
As always, I hope you find this episode valuable, and I look forward to catching you in the next episode!
