Remaking Normal
Manage series 3697802
What does “normal” really mean — and who gets to decide it?
Hosted by Alexander Freeman — an award-winning filmmaker, writer, musician, digital artist, entrepreneur, father, and partner living with cerebral palsy — Remaking Normal is a bold and deeply human podcast that challenges the myths, limits, and expectations of what society calls normal.
Diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, Alexander has spent his life redefining what’s possible. From years of therapy and learning to communicate in his own way, to earning his degree in Film Production from Emerson College, he’s built a creative life rooted in resilience and storytelling.
In each episode, Alexander invites guests from all walks of life — creators, activists, engineers, thinkers, and everyday people — to explore powerful topics like disability, mental health, love, identity, gender, technology, and what it means to belong. Together, they ask hard questions about conformity, inclusion, and humanity itself.
