Gina Nelson’s bio
Learning how to navigate the world of our personal secrets can be intimidating, overwhelming, and confusing. Societies are lacking tools for our toolboxes.
To fill this need, Gina Nelson, created a roadmap for healthy secret-keeping that advances our understanding and then can be shared with the next generation.
These tools build awareness, and self-compassion, and maintain wellness in body, mind, and spirit, creating more room for our much-deserved joy-seeking.
Gina Nelson's role in the world community is to support, educate, and empower others to heal from the pain of their secrets. Her life mission is to support adults and children who feel burdened by their secrets and to offer tools for healthy secret-keeping.
For over 20 years, Gina has been honoring secret keepers, like herself, by developing these needed options which help secret keepers begin healing long before they are ready to share their secrets.
She wished she had these skills instead of carrying the heavy burden of her secrets for decades following the long-term sexual and emotional abuse she endured as an adolescent. The weight and effect these secrets had on her physical, mental, and emotional development over the decades affected her life in countless ways.
Gina is a certified Body-Mind Counselor (BMC), Energy Healing Therapist (EHT), and Usui Reiki Practitioner. She is a 2006 graduate of Nine Gates Mystery School.
She works virtually and in person with individuals and groups through her business, Nurture 3 Healing.
Children and adults have felt safe, seen, and supported and feel hopeful, empowered, and more integrated after working with Gina. A few passions of her practice are trauma healing, honoring our stories, cultivating self-compassion, health crisis relief, and exploring limiting beliefs.
She supports mothers, women, and survivors to regain and realign mind/body/spiritual balance. She offers popular in-person and virtual workshops on Healthy Secret Keeping, Grace Hunting, Joy Seeking, rejuvenating mini-retreats, and nurture nights
for groups. Her healthy secret-keeping classes for children, prepare the next generation to manage their secrets from an early age. She runs The Secret Keeper Society, a virtual space that builds awareness, education, and community about the effects and choices of secret keeping.
Gina is a dynamic motivational speaker and coach. She is an advocate for abuse survivors and is an active member of Oregon Abuse Advocates and Survivors in Service (OAASIS). She is an award-winning author of, “Becoming a Girl Powerhouse”, where she and other authors share their trauma to triumph stories.
Gina has a B.A. in Painting and Drawing and has been a practicing artist for over 25 years. She is a muralist, painting instructor, and performance artist.
She is a prolific poet and painter and is commissioned to create healing poetry and meaningful vision paintings for others.
Gina considers herself a Grace Hunter and a Joy Seeker. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, son, and their two dogs who point them all toward joy. Look for her ground-breaking book on Healthy Secret Keeping.
