This 3rd episode of podNECE presents a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis focused on the interconnections between sustainable tourism, well-being, sustainable development, and tourism economics. This review analyzes 223 selected academic papers, identifying three primary research clusters: sustainable tourism, tourism, and well-being. The study proposes a new taxonomy and holistic definition for sustainable tourism, emphasizing its balance of environmental protection, socio-cultural preservation, and economic development, aiming to enhance understanding and guide future research and policy in the sector.
