Have you ever taken a nap, hoping to feel refreshed, but woke up feeling even worse than before? Or wondered why you still feel burned out even when you're technically getting enough sleep?
Today, we are rethinking rest because it's not just about closing your eyes or checking out.
In this episode of Persistence in Prayer, I am joined by Heather Macowicz, a Catholic spiritual director, retreat leader, founder of Peak Encounter Ministries, and author of Peak Encounters: A Spiritual Field Guide for Adventurous Souls.
Heather and I explore the surprising ways your soul might be asking for rest, and why. Sometimes the most restorative thing that you can do isn't a nap, but it's a walk, a paintbrush, or a real conversation with someone who truly sees you.
We also talk about:

  • The tension between laziness and surrender,
  • How to discern what you're really called to, and
  • How to create more margin in your day for peace, prayer, and of course, the presence of God.

This one's gentle, packed with lots of wisdom and full of practical tools, especially if you've been pushing through and calling it holy.
