"You get to redefine your identity"

This week's episode is a follow-up to episode 70. I dive deeper into the topic of intergenerational trauma and the role of being a cycle breaker. I discuss the emotional reality of breaking generational cycles, unpacking the grief, sharing the identity shifts that occur, and inherited beliefs that often surface when healing intergenerational trauma, including the maternal wounds that showed up in my own family lineage. I share tools that I used in my own journey, that you too can attempt to access if you want to embark on this journey yourself. These tools include: hypnotherapy, reiki, shamanic healing, amongst others. I encourage you to have a strong 'why' behind doing this work and the power of honoring your lineage while still choosing differently for the future. This conversation offers encouragement, practical tools, and the reminder that you are NOT broken...you are a cycle breaker & THAT is an empowering title!

Key Take-aways:

  • Being a cycle breaker involves emotional costs, including grief.
  • Identity shifts can occur when breaking generational cycles.
  • Limiting beliefs about self-worth and productivity can be inherited.
  • Empowerment comes from redefining one's identity as a cycle breaker.
  • The journey of healing is both challenging and rewarding.
  • Honor your lineage while choosing differently for the future.
  • Emotional intelligence has evolved across generations.
  • Generational trauma can be broken by acknowledging it.
  • You are not broken; you are a cycle breaker.
  • Community support is vital in the healing process.
