Episode #2 of the mini-series: Hilary and I discuss our personal experiences with religion and our spiritual journey/practices. This isn't an episode to bash one end of the spectrum over the other, rather this is an episode to share how they can both be integrated into 1. Hilary specifically talks about how the overall goal set by God is for us as humans to embody unconditional love and compassion, which is the ultimate example set by God. Throughout our discussion we also touch on the limitations of traditional church practices and the need for more inclusivity and authentic spiritual experiences. We encourage listeners to explore their own personal beliefs and practices and work through any guilt/grief that they may be carrying, that may be associated with leaving organized religion, if that is an experience that's occurred in your own life.
Key Takeaways:

  • Embody the qualities of unconditional love and compassion expected by a Higher Power.
  • Explore personal beliefs and practices to find a spiritual experience that resonates with you.
  • Work through guilt and grief associated with leaving organized religion.
  • It's okay to question the limitations and authenticity of traditional church practices.
