Let's Ride with Mary Beth Barone
Manage episode 482632419 series 3665084
Devon is joined by a true homie, Mary Beth Barone — stand-up comedian and star of Prime Video’s Overcompensating — to talk about some lyrics. There’s the song that flatlined a college hookup, a surprising case for Lil Wayne as the voice of the working class, and a vulnerable moment where Mary Beth asks herself the toughest question of all: does she still ride for Katy Perry?
MARY BETH BARONE is a comedian, writer, and actor based in New York City. She made her late-night television debut on THE TONIGHT SHOW starring Jimmy Fallon. She can be seen playing the role of GRACE in the upcoming Amazon/A24 half hour comedy, OVERCOMPENSATING, which premieres May 15! Mary Beth has headlined sold out shows at New York Comedy Fest, Netflix Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe. Her feature script YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND was voted onto The Black List. Mary Beth played a lead role in THE ANNE FRANK GIFT SHOP, which was shortlisted for an Oscar in 2024 in the live action short category. She can be seen in the latest season of Netflix’s critically acclaimed show, BLACK MIRROR. Mary Beth self-produced and released her first stand-up special, THOUGHT PROVOKING. She is currently touring her brand new hour of stand-up internationally. She is the co-host of the popular podcast, RIDE, with Benito Skinner, which debuted in the top 10 on Spotify.
