In part 2 of the interview started in Episode 7, we talk with Tim Pineau, PhD about clicbait, news, cognitive-behavioral therapy, Internet addiction, and Fitbits. Tim Pineau, PhD is currently the Outreach Coordinator at the Marymount University Counseling Center in Arlington, VA, and he has a private practice in Washington, DC. Mindfulness is a cornerstone of his personal life and clinical work, and as part of that work Dr. Pineau offers individual and group therapy, as well as workshops that emphasize mindfulness principles. He has coauthored two book chapters and a journal article on the topic of mindfulness in sport, with an upcoming chapter to be published next year. He and his colleagues have also written a book on this topic called Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement: Mental Training for Athletes and Coaches, which highlights the mindfulness-based intervention they developed for sport performers. In addition, Dr. Pineau teaches a course in Mindfulness and Meditation at the Catholic University of America, and he continues to pursue research examining the impact of Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement (MSPE) with athletes.
