Manage episode 274204509 series 2796473
For language purists in today's milieu this may be a tricky question; 'Can Hindi do without Urdu?' In this special Good Morning Grammar episode, Rajesh Joshi a freelance or as he put it 'azaad' journalist, harks back to the socio-cultural norms and mannerisms of the past (Ganga–Jamuni Tehzeeb) and explains that the two languages actually share a symbiotic relationship. You may ask; What does that mean? This ex BBC journalist brings up the elementary Hindi alphabet table and how we associated them with certain words, words he point out are in fact Farsi.
Rajesh realises this may be a hotly debated issue and has clearly asked for your opinion. So what do you think? Send in a voice messages on WhatsApp at +91-9625475442 or email; [email protected] or write to Rajesh and [email protected].
We would love to playback your clips or opinion. Let’s make our morning listening a little more interesting.
