Ignition’s very own Jake Schogger delves into the key terms that should be covered in employment contracts, and how these can differ for junior and senior employees with the firm’s Head of Employment, Nicky Cranfield.

In this episode, we look at an overview of key employment contract terms, terms governing the day-to-day employee/employer relationship, junior vs senior employment contracts, common restrictions included in employment contracts, equity and bonus provisions and finally what can go wrong when employment contracts aren’t drafted properly.

Our guest Nicky Cranfield trained at Eversheds LLP, where she worked in both the international employment law team co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional projects, and the core UK team advising employers across a range of sectors. She then worked with senior executives at Fox Williams LLP, before moving to Shanghai for three years. On her return to the UK, Nicky gained valuable in-house experience at Amazon, assisting with their employee-side GDPR preparations, before joining Ignition Law in 2020 (where she heads up the employment team).
