Luke chapter 2 tells the story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem during a Roman census, where Mary lays Him in a manger because there was no room in the inn. Angels appear to nearby shepherds, announcing the Savior’s birth and praising God, prompting the shepherds to visit the newborn and spread the news. Mary treasures all these events in her heart, reflecting on their meaning. Jesus is later presented at the temple, where Simeon and Anna, two devout believers, recognize Him as the promised Messiah. The chapter ends with a glimpse of Jesus at age twelve, amazing teachers in the temple with His understanding, while continuing to grow in wisdom and favor.
