Mark 16 originally ends at verse 8, but many later manuscripts include verses 9–20, often called the “Longer Ending of Mark.” These added verses describe Jesus appearing to Mary Magdalene, two disciples on the road, and then to the eleven apostles. Jesus gives the Great Commission, instructing His followers to preach the gospel to all creation and promising signs like healing and protection. He is then taken up into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, showing His authority and victory. The disciples go out boldly, performing miracles and spreading the message everywhere, confirming the power of the risen Christ.
