Blue Label Telecoms has posted a strong set of results, driven largely by its investment in Cell C. The telecoms operator, once written down to nil, has now delivered a “net positive” earnings contribution to the group – powering headline earnings per share up more than 500% in the year to May.
With its recent rebrand to Blue Unlimited (BLU) and a push to secure a controlling stake of 53.5% in Cell C, Blue Label is looking to restructure and ultimately list the mobile operator, giving it the independence to stand on its own merits.
