Welcome to Getting Under The Surface, Episode 6
In this episode, we talk with Janine Kwoh
Janine is the author of, "Welcome to the Grief Club," which she created after experiencing how hard and complicated grief can be when she lost her partner, Nap. Both Janine and Nap were both in their late twenties when he passed away.
Janine is also the owner and designer of Kwohtations, a Brooklyn-based stationery company and letterpress print and design studio. Kwohtations is an ever-evolving collection of greeting cards and gifts that reflect and celebrate a diversity of identities and life experiences, always with humor and empathy.
Topics tackled include ...

  • There is no right or wrong way to grieve
  • How to deal with these expectations we put on ourselves to "grieve right"
  • How to accept (and not judge) our grieving process
  • Acceptable places to cry
  • "Being on fire without anyone noticing"
  • How to be supportive to a grieving person
  • What role can humor play when we are grieving
