On this episode of @DADennial we introduce Lance Hillsinger, a child Welfare social worker with over 3 decades of experience most recently in San Luis Obispo County, California.
Over the years Lance has come across several cases and describes the importance of a parent just being present.

Lance has written 2 books:
1. In Place of the Parent - through a memoir format, he describes the child welfare/juvenile court system, how it has improved, and how it could be better still.
2. Build a Better Bridge examines the social welfare programs that began with the War on Poverty. Lance details how these programs have helped and how they can be improved. He also details their limitations.
