Welcome to Breaking The Cycle To StepForward, the podcast where we open up honest conversations about recovery, resilience, and reclaiming our lives after abuse and trauma.

I’m Beverley, here with my co-host Chris — and today, we’re joined by Dr. Elly Hanson, a clinical psychologist and researcher whose work is helping to shine a light on some of the darkest corners of abuse.

In this episode, Dr. Hanson shares findings from her latest research paper, developed in collaboration with the NSPCC and NAPAC, focusing on the harrowing subject of ritual abuse.

Whilst this subject is challenging to even think about, it’s a reality that many children in the UK are still facing today. This conversation is about raising awareness, challenging silence, and standing in solidarity with survivors.

We invite you to listen with compassion and courage — because breaking the cycle starts with speaking the truth.

Let’s Break The Cycle To StepForward, together.
