PRE-EPISODE NOTE: Due to low battery on the iPad, the episode was unfortunately cut short… abruptly.

Welcome to “Beat The Mental Health Out Of It!” with your host, The DEFECTIVE Schizoaffective!

The show where we have candid, unscripted discussions about everything related to mental health with a twist of humor and no-holds-barred!

Join me for an inspirational episode with my dear friend and literal lyrical genius, TREVOR WISCHMEYER! (AKA. “Sympathy For The Typewriter”)

He is a gifted songwriter with diagnosed BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) and yeah… this mental illness gets a pretty bad reputation…

We discuss many topics, including:

- His journey through life’s complexities with this mental health condition he emphasizes that our struggles don’t define us as bad people

- His battles with drug use and alcoholism

- The profound and crippling ways that BPD impacts intimate relationships and day-to-day existence

- The importance of taking accountability for ALL of your actions, mentally ill or not

- His brilliant and effective methods of writing poetic lyrics rivaling legends like Bob Dylan, James McMurtry, Paul McCartney, and Leonard Cohen (and I am not exaggerating!)

I can’t help but tear up every time I listen to his music—it’s that powerful!

Trevor and I first crossed paths in our local church, where we felt an instant, profound bond. Although we weren’t incredibly close, there was an electric excitement to work together that never diminished.

I am thrilled to know him on a much more personal level!

Trevor’s journey, insights, and breathtaking music are a treasure you need to experience. I promise you’ve never heard anything quite like his sound!
