In this episode I sit down with Jake Smith, Crossfit coach of 6 years and full time trainer for the past 3 years. We talk about Crossfit, how he got involved, what the games/competitions are like and how approached the prep leading up to competition day. We also discuss the differences in coaching groups compared to 1:1 training and the different complexities each practice has to offer from a coaching perspective. The conversation finishes up with Jake talking about his mental approach to 20 minute all out AMRAP Crossfit workouts and then squatting 95% of his 1RM for three reps. The benefits of intentional stress training through lifting weights has yielded massive beneficial results in both our lives in different ways.
