Summary: China's gone nuclear and banned Nvidia chips completely. Not just the watered-down ones, but a full stop to Chinese tech companies buying RTX Pro 6000D chips. This escalation comes after Trump's rather gangster-like deal demanding 15% of Nvidia's China revenue as a direct cut to the US government. Not a tax. Straight revenue sharing, which feels distinctly mafia-esque. The timing's suspicious too, dropping this bombshell whilst Trump's swanning about the UK on his state visit, glad-handing with the King and boasting about AI dominance.

Meanwhile, OpenAI are dunking on Google. Google proudly announced their Gemini model solved 10 out of 12 problems, only for OpenAI to swoop in ten minutes later claiming they'd nailed all 12. I do love watching these tech giants keep score like petty siblings. The whole thing reminded me why we need multiple labs competing rather than one running away with everything - keeps everyone honest and pushing boundaries.

The most useful bit came from Peter Yang's breakdown of AI hype versus reality. His hot takes cut through the noise brilliantly - pointing out that everyone's suddenly an "AI expert" on LinkedIn but where's the actual shipping? Most people try hundreds of tools but stick with maybe five long-term. Plus one of my viewers, Ed, just solved a massive problem with my 30-day build project by suggesting users paste transcripts directly instead of needing YouTube channels. Sometimes the obvious solution is staring you in the face and it takes someone else to point it out.
