Welcome to Episode #6, I am your host and the podcast creator, Sue Plant. This is the first season of The 60 and More Crowd Podcast. It has become a meaningful project: onward to new paths and see where they may lead.

Thanks to Alex Sanfillippo, the founder of PodMatch and a leading podcast industry speaker. I am grateful, we crossed paths and for the direction of his positivity, encouragement and support of this new podcast. Alex gave the 60 and More Crowd Podcast, a five star review on Spotify!

Listener feedback, questions, comments: show email: [email protected].

This is a Canadian based podcast with a wide global scope, talking about and researching global trends on worker longevity. How can we learn and kindly support each other as we navigate this path. These are short on the go episodes, less than 8 minutes. My vision: why not create a podcast to open the discussion. My initial motivation: a choice I made to leave my longtime business career role and explore new ways to work. This opened the door to my interest and willingness to dig a little deeper into the working longer path.

In today's episode, many people across the globe who are in their 60’s, 70’ and beyond are approaching or moving past traditional retirement timelines and delaying their exit from the workforce. How does this look in various countries and what are the levels of support in place ( or needing a boost going forward) to support this big change to the labour force.

A common thread shared about modern worker longevity and highlighting the immense value older workers bring to the marketplace. How are both workers and employers/organizations navigating this big change and face to the labour force? Emerging themes: work schedule flexibility, phased in retirement, ongoing training and education,, digital/technology upskilling, age inclusion, combating ageism.

Featured countries; Japan, Switzerland, Denmark, The Netherlands and Canada.

In the spirit of the 60 and More Crowd Podcast: you can't navigate new paths with an old map!

Thanks for listening and l look forward to speaking to you in the next episode~

Disclaimer: “The 60 and More Crowd Podcast: the host is not an employment or a retirement financial specialist.
