Hello friends in Jesus, Welcome to the show 2 Minutes with the Lord
The selection process of the twelve apostles was a discerning task for Jesus. He gives them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them and to cure every disease and sickness.
Who are the apostles? Jesus selects 12 men for whom he had a particular purpose. Apostles refers to people who are sent for a mission. The apostles came from every walk of life.
The background check of these men reveal their lifestyle, identity and social status in the society. Some were fishermen or into the fishing business. One was a tax collector and one was a zealot, revolutionary. A few others into petty profession.
What did Jesus see in these men?
He saw an enormous potential and commitment to proclaim the good news. He could visualize the unwavering faith, commendable hard work and fearless love for Jesus. They had a tremendous dedication towards carrying out the mission of Jesus given by the Father.
Jesus trained them to go out and proclaim the good news. Jesus wanted them to be part of the kingdom. A more important task was to experience the realities of the world.
As Christians, we are the present day apostles sent out on a mission to proclaim Jesus to the world. Our commitment needs to be 100 percent. Jesus says to us, Go and proclaim the good news. Are we ready?
Lord choose me to be your faithful disciple Amen
