In this Sleepy Scriptures episode, we begin our bedtime journey through the Gospel of Luke with chapters 1 through 6 from the King James Bible, accompanied by gentle background music to calm your heart and mind.

These opening chapters unfold the angel Gabriel’s announcements to Zechariah and to Mary, followed by Mary’s hymn of praise, the Magnificat. We then hear the beloved story of the birth of Jesus Christ, including the angels’ proclamation to the shepherds: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14).

As the Gospel continues, we witness John the Baptist’s ministry, the baptism of Jesus, and the beginning of His ministry of teaching and healing. In chapter 6, Jesusdelivers the Sermon on the Plain, where He offers the timeless wisdom of the Golden Rule: “As ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise” (Luke 6:31).
