A Scary But Brilliant Productivity Hack
Manage episode 479890031 series 3327267
Quick decisions often yield our best results - a lesson I learned when stepping completely outside my comfort zone with just ten days' notice. When asked to speak about productivity to a corporate audience (mostly men) instead of my usual crowd of women interested in personal development, I could have hesitated. Instead, I embraced the challenge as an experiment.
The talk was a success, but the real revelation came from the compressed timeline itself. Without weeks to overthink, second-guess, or spiral into "what-if" scenarios, I simply prepared what I could and showed up fully. This experience reinforced something I've observed repeatedly in my coaching practice: tight deadlines often produce superior results precisely because they eliminate the opportunity for sloppy thinking.
We understand this intuitively, don't we? Productivity isn't about having more time or perfect plans—it's about managing our thinking effectively. When we remove the luxury of overthinking, we access a more efficient, creative, and confident version of ourselves. I'm now applying this principle to other areas of my life, including my next book project.
And, as a special FREE bonus, I want to give you my "6 Journal Prompts To Coach Yourself To A Better Life In 6 Days!"
