Former Why Don’t We member Jack Avery joins us solo on the sofa for the first time. It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from him and by all accounts — his own — he’s really been through it. From struggling to find loyal collaborators post-WDW, to suffering debilitating anxiety attacks, to financial struggles, to finding out his life might be in danger, to co-parenting his six-year-old daughter with his ex, Avery has been dealing with a lot.

He’s gone from being one of the most reticent interviewees (as part of WDW) to being refreshingly candid about the tough stuff. Newly inspired and diving into his R&B bag (and working with Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins!), his new tracks — ‘APHRODITE,’ ‘PLEASE DON’T GO’ and ‘IF YOU DON’T SHE WILL,’ the latter of which was inspired by his girlfriend and which he performs acoustically for the first time on the couch. Don’t miss this one.
