Cawn hwyl yn y bennod hon wrth drafod cywydd hunan-ddychanol enwog Dafydd ap Gwilym. Dyma gerdd storïol ddoniol sy’n disgrifio ymdrech aflwyddiannus i gyfarfod â merch yn hwyr yn y nos, ac wrth adrodd y stori hon mae Dafydd yn dychanu’r union bersona barddol sy’n ganolog i gymaint o’i gywyddau. Ond nodwn fod themâu difrifol yma hefyd, er gwaethaf yr holl hwyl; mae’n bosibl dadlau bod y cywydd hwn yn cyferbynnu cariad cnawdol a chariad ysbrydol a’i fod hefyd yn gyfansoddiad sy’n amlygu tensiynau rhwng y Cymry a’r Saeson. ** ‘Trouble at an Inn’ We have fun in this episode while discussing Dafydd ap Gwilym’s famous self-satirical cywydd. This is a narrative poem which describes an unsuccessful attempt to meet a woman late at night, and by reciting this story Dafydd is satirizing the very bardic persona which is central to so many of his cywyddau.
