On June 29, 2014, five-year-old Nathan O'Brien stayed overnight at his grandparents' home—Alvin and Kathryn Liknes—after helping with their estate sale. The next morning, Nathan’s mother returned to pick him up but found the house empty and signs of a violent incident. An Amber Alert was issued later that day, marking one of the longest in Canadian history.Despite extensive searches, the victims' bodies were never recovered.The case shocked the nation and highlighted the devastating impact of unresolved personal vendettas.
