Welcome to Yes Tales, where we help you fall asleep to enchanting stories – Some famous, some forgottenπŸŒ™βœ¨
The story of "The princess and the pea" by H.C. Andersen was first published in 1835, and the fairytale received mixed reviews when it came out. Some felt it wasn't suitable for children under the age of 8, while one critic pointed out that "the realistic aspects of the fairy tale that make it easily relatable to all people". Researcher Jack Zipes has said that Andersen, during his lifetime, "was obliged to act as a dominated subject within the dominant social circles despite his fame and recognition as a writer." This inner struggle, as pointed out by Zipes and others, often showed up in Andersen's stories, where characters like the princess, have to go through ordeals to prove their virtue (source: Wikipedia).
This extended and slightly modernised Yes Tales adaptation of the timeless bedtime story is brought to life through a calm and soothing, yet engaging narration, set against relaxing visuals of space and ASMR nature sounds, which creates the perfect setting to help you unwind and fall asleep.
