Welcome to the debut WPKN GOLD SOUNDS broadcast element, featured here in podcast form. New Haven band Wally, featuring brothers Teo and Lucas Hernandez and lifelong friend Alex Blair, perform in an acoustic trio version of the group, offering original songs like: "Mesmerism," "Settled," "We Laughed," "Golden," and Neil Young's "Tell Me Why," among others. With WPKN's Brendan Toller, the band also discusses formation, evolution, influences, writing process, and creativity in this debut deep-dive Gold Sounds broadcast and podcast.

GOLD SOUNDS, is a new pilot series of live in-studio video and broadcast sessions, elevating and showcasing Connecticut/tri-state artists and global acts.

Artists and bands perform at WPKN's Bridgeport Studios, captured on video via Black Rock's Kicker Pictures, and multi-track recorded by Chris Ruggiero (Preservation Sound), and assistant engineer (and recent intern) Chris Miller. Video sessions are typically 10-20 minutes, paired with a 55-minute broadcast featuring the performance tracks, lead by a band interview focusing on formation, influences, craft etc.

Catch the Wally video session here.
