Listen to today's podcast...

If you are a parent, you may remember when your little one learned how to crawl. All of a sudden you started to see danger in every corner, in every wall plug, in every drawer and in every room.

You became super aware of the many potential dangers hiding in your home.

Is that a bad thing to be on guard and to look for danger? No. We are hard-wired to do so.

Early humans faced a lot of dangers, and their ability to detect danger evolved to help them evade or battle those dangers in order to survive.

Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency!

Here are today’s Tips For Building Resiliency and Celebrating National Safe At Home Week:

The purpose of National Safe At Home Week is to raise awareness of the need to stay safe around the home. So here are some recommended tips:

Sound the Alarm: Install smoke detectors on every floor of your home and carbon monoxide detectors near sleeping areas.

Avoid Overload: Check for overloaded extension cords.

Plan Your Escape: Practice a fire escape plan with your family where you identify two exits for every room.

Keep Extinguishers Handy: Place all-purpose fire extinguishers in key locations in your home—the kitchen, bedroom and basement.

Knowing that the space you live in is safe allows your brain to relax and stand down. It allows you to sleep more deeply. And according to research, a safe, secure home promotes emotional security for your children.
