Chicago-based United Airlines has announced a new partnership with JetBlue that will allow the airline to return to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport. The partnership, called Blue Sky, will allow United and JetBlue to sell seats on each other’s websites and let customers earn frequent flier miles on both carriers. The partnership will also give United more access to Boston and extend its reach to Florida and the Caribbean. United left JFK in 2015 then briefly returned in 2021. It left again in 2022 because it was unable to secure long term slots there.
