What is community? Why is it important? How do we cultivate it? I get into all of this on this special LAUNCH day episode of the podcast.
The Trinity is our greatest example of community; God the Father, Jesus the Son, Holy Spirit.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now
the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of
the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
-Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. John 1-4
Our culture focuses so much on the self, the individual, these days. No wonder we have seen such a rise in depression and anxiety. When it’s all about me, I lose sight of the fact that my life is not my own.
God’s grace says, "yes, you are forgiven", BUT it’s also about giving you the strength through the Lord to do what He’s called you to do. To live to a higher standard of holiness, of accountability, of obedience – you cannot do this in isolation.
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created
them; male and female he created them.
