For episode 59 we are going into the hood on the south side of Chicago and talking with the Pastor of New Beginnings Church, Corey Brooks.

Pastor Brooks is doing something truly remarkable in his community. Being a Pastor is one thing, but having a vision to change lives for generations to come is another! With the vision to create a state of the art Leadership and Economic Opportunity Center in the heart of his struggling community, Pastor Brooks has garnered national attention. In order to raise the funds needed, he spent 340 nights on a rooftop in Chicago and is now committed to a year long walk across the entire country beginning in September.

There are no excuses with this guy. Pastor Brooks founded Project H.O.O.D. to help others get their life straightened out and obtain their destiny of being successful members of their community. Helping people get off the streets and government entitlements is the mission of Project HOOD by providing mentors, education, real community, life skills and resources to get on the right track...and it starts with Christ-like love!

You heard it here first, this is one of the most encouraging things happening in our country right now! Too bad you haven't seen or heard about it on most of the mainstream media networks. Pastor Brooks says his message combined with the color of his skin just doesn't fit the narrative that most media outlets want to push. But that don't stop him from moving forward with whatever God wants him to do, however He wants him to do it!
