There is big news coming from The Frick Pittsburgh!

Chief Curator and Director of Collections, Dawn Brean, gave WQED a sneak-peek at the Clayton House's 3rd and 4th floors! These largely never before seen floors will be open to the public for the first time ever for exclusive tours in November. Dawn talks about why they are opening it up now, and what people will be able to see.

Unlike the 1st and 2nd floors, the top two floors are unrestored, untouched spaces. They remain largely as they were when Helen Clay Frick passed in 1984. Though no large scale restoration is planned, visitor's can also see the workspaces the curatorial team uses throughout the year.

The tour aims to pull back the curtain on preservation work that goes into a historic house like Clayton.

The highly anticipated tours will begin on Nov. 5 and will take place at 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on Wednesdays for only 8 weeks! Groups will be led by a variety of the Frick Pittsburgh staff for a highly personalized tour.
