Episode 108 – SSRIs versus TCAs

This is where things start to get so interesting when it comes to Veterinary Psychopharmacology!

Understanding the similarities and differences between medication classes – in this case the Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors and the Tricyclic Antidepressants is a crucial aspect when it comes to Behaviour Medications.

There are actually a lot of similarities but also many differences and knowing these will help you make better medication choices, prevent problems by understanding contraindications and guide you in your decision-making process and build you confidence when choosing psychopharmacologic agents.

In this episode, I go into detail about when I might use a class of medications over another and why I make these choices.
