It's a summer morning in 1912 when the family of Josiah Moore is found brutally murdered inside of their Villisca, Iowa home. Along with six slain family members are the bodies of two young guests of the Moores. The crime makes front page news, but after an exhaustive investigation and multiple suspects charged, the identity of The Villisca Axe Murderer remains a mystery. Tune in as Maggie walks you through the disturbing details of the case, then producer Jon Street is joined by hosts of "Buried Bones," Kate Winkler Dawson and Paul Holes and the three discuss the process of investigating historical true crime cases, and what can what can learned and applied to investigations today.
