Have you ever felt like you can never truly relax in relationship, that you have to keep performing, pleasing, or proving yourself to be worthy of love? You might be carrying the hidden wounds of conditional love. Whether it came from childhood, religious legalism, or performance-based approval, conditional love gives us a false view of, well, love. It breeds defensiveness, self-hatred, fear of vulnerability, and ultimately keeps us from the deep connections we long for.

In this episode, we’ll explore the emotional, relational, and spiritual cost of growing up with “love that had strings attached,” and why it becomes such a barrier to belonging in adulthood. We’ll look at how Scripture reveals the freedom of God’s unconditional love, unpack the ways our nervous system responds to early rejection, and outline practical steps for breaking free from the performance trap so we can live from a place of security, not fear.

If you’ve ever longed for a community where you can be fully known and fully loved, this conversation will help you start healing the barriers that have been holding you back.
